Volume control broken after Gnome 2.6 Upgrade
After upgrading to Gnome 2.6 in unstable, the volume control applet no
longer works. if I click on the slider, it just jumps back to the
original position. If I open the volume applet's preferences dialog, the
text area supposedly containing the available audio channels is empty.
If I select the volume controls from the gnome taskbar menu
applications->multimedia->volume controls (which launches
gnome-volume-control), then an error message appears stating, " Sorry,
no mixer elements and/or devices found" . The same thing happens if I
start gnome-volume-control directly from a terminal and no other error
messages appear in the terminal.
*However*, the volume slider on xmms works fine, as does the
gnome-alsamixer.
Anybody else experiencing this, or know what's causing it?
Thanks
Josh
