scanner setup problem
I am running debian's woody with kernel 2.6.5
i got a usb scanner "MUSTEK 1200 UB PLUS".
according to www.mostang.com/sane, i have to
download the file sbfw.usb and place it in
/usr/share/sane/gt68xx. then i changed the
/etc/sane.d/dll.config to have only the line:
gt68xx
also i edited /etc/sane.d/gt68xx.conf
so that MUSTEK 1200 UB Plus related block of lines read
# Mustek ScanExpress 1200 UB Plus, Medion/Lifetec/Tevion LT 9452, Trust
# Compact Scan USB 19200 use that one:
override "mustek-scanexpress-1200-ub-plus"
firmware "/usr/share/sane/gt68xx/sbfw.usb"
Now i tried to do:
debian:~# sane-find-scanner
# No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that
# you have loaded a SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter.
# Also you need support for SCSI Generic (sg) in your operating system.
# If using Linux, try "modprobe sg".
# No USB scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that
# you have loaded a driver for your USB host controller and have installed a
# kernel scanner module.
# Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports can't be
# detected by this program.
debian:~#
debian:~# scanimage --list-devices
No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).
debian:~#
I would appreciate some help. please.
