Gnome Help Browser (Yelp) slow / broken in Sarge?

Has anyone else had problems with yelp in sarge?  Bringing up some links 
is extremely slow, waiting with the "loading..." message displayed for 
several minutes (on a fairly modern machine).  Sometimes, the 
"loading..." message goes away but no documentation is displayed, and 
the browser window is simply left blank.
