reverse dns configuration problem

I use debian3.0 on pentium IV as a workstation which
is connected to some LAN.

Suppose that my IP is say 129.93.131.403
Suppose also:
hostname: myname
domain name : domainname.word0.sc

How one can configure reverse dns (it is needed to use
newsgroup)?
I tried to edit the file /etc/hosts the following way:

129.93.131.403 myname.domainname.word0.sc myname
129.93.131.403 domainname131-403
domainname131-403.domainname.word0.sc

but it does not work.

Any suggestion?

TIA

Jan
