I'll check that, but i think Thunderbird (Mozilla) is TLS compliant.

I've also tried with a lot of security switches on, Thunderbird, on and
off and it didn't work.

It's working with pop and SSL, i'll check for TLS on both uw-imap and
Thunderbird.
