Epson Photo 825 and CUPS - Print slightly off center, how to fix

Hi all,

I have CUPS working fine with my Epson Photo 825 printer (shared from a windows computer). The (text) print is good but shifted about 4 mm to the left. When I print the CUPS test page, the page frame edge is exactly on the top and bottom edge, but the right side shows the frame edge 4 mm in and the left side does not show the frame edge.

This is a problem because the first character of text printouts is on the left edge, "off" the printed page, making text printouts unreadable.

I suspect I would need to change some settings in the ppd for my printer, but the settings area rather cryptic. I would hope for a single "offset" field somewhere, but there are pagesize, paperdimension, imageable area, etc for each type of paper in the settings, some with one coordinate set, others with two.

Anyway, has anyone else encountered this problem? How do I go about fixing it?

Thanks

Peter
