RE: NIS Client Problem

See /etc/nsswitch.conf? The order of the options defines the order in
which they're used.

>> Thanks. I do very much wish to do this. So, I've altered my
/etc/nsswitch.conf to look like:

# /etc/nsswitch.conf
#
# Example configuration of GNU Name Service Switch functionality.
# If you have the `glibc-doc' and `info' packages installed, try:
# `info libc "Name Service Switch"' for information about this file.

passwd: nis files
group: nis files
shadow: nis files

hosts: files dns
networks: files

protocols: db files
services: db files
ethers: db files
rpc: db files

netgroup: nis

>> I've altered passwd, group, shadow to have "nis files" instead of
"compat". However, this doesn't seem to have had the desired effect.

Thanks, Roland.
