| port. /dev/input/mice is for usb mice.
Actually, kernel 2.6 provides data from PS/2 mice to userland programs
via the /dev/input/mice node. The 2.4 kernels didn't, making it
harder (though certainly not impossible) to have a PS/2 and USB mouse
at the same time.
