Is there an mga_vid driver for Kernel 2.6.x ? (Matrox G200, Video, MPlayer, etc.)

Hello,

I was happy using MPlayer with my Matrox G200 (quite an old card) with a kernel 2.4.18 (or 2.4.22 I'm not sure). The driver it was using was ' mga_vid.o '.

Now I'm using Debian Sid with a 2.6.3 kernel.
I understand that for a 2.6.x kernel, the driver should be something like ' mga_vid.ko '.

Is there an mga_vid driver for 2.6.x kernels ? or is it currently being developmed/upgraded ?

In fact I already compiled an 'mga_vid.ko' using an MPlayer patch that I found. I could even insert mga_vid using modprobe. But when I try to use it (with mga_vid_test for instance) I get the error "unable to open device". Precision: I did create /dev/mga_vid char-major... as explained in the doc for MPlayer.

Any ideas? Anyone got the same problem?
Or maybe I should forget mga_vid and try something else (x11, vidix, or simply vesa ?)

Thkx in advance.
Sylvain.
