The killer here is SpamAssassin, not amavisd-new. I ran postfix,
amavisd-new, and clamav on a 133MHz 486, 500-700 msgs/day. No
problem. Adding SpamAssassin brought it to it's knees. SpamAssassin
is a big help for dealing with spam, so I upgraded to a 333MHz PII.
(Gotta love what Linux can do with older machines.)
