Hello,
My tape drive is a hp 20 40 scsi drive. It will allow data to be
written to it.

The output of mt -f /dev/st0 is:

root@genesis:/home/gseddon# mt -f /dev/st0 status
SCSI 2 tape drive:
File number=0, block number=0, partition=0.
Tape block size 10240 bytes. Density code 0x13 (DDS (61000 bpi)).
Soft error count since last status=0
General status bits on (41010000):
 BOT ONLINE IM_REP_EN

There is a symbolic link between /dev/st0 and /dev/tape. I have tried
mt setblk 10240. Still the device stops, with the same error. However,
some data is written to the tape.

Gavin.
