debian unstable / 2.6.2 kernel / ATI Radeon 9200 + fglrx (proprietary) / probably AGP problem ?

I have a board with VIA KT600 chipset and ATI Radeon 9200 64MB,
I compiled the agpgart into the kernel, and generated my
XF86Config-4 with the fglrxconfig tool.

However the X won't start, the screen doesn't even seem to try
to switch to another mode..there are NO (EE) lines in the XFree86.log
but the last few lines are:

(II) fglrx(0): Kernel Module Build Time Information:
(II) fglrx(0): Build-Kernel UTS_RELEASE: 2.6.2
(II) fglrx(0): Build-Kernel MODVERSIONS: no
(II) fglrx(0): Build-Kernel __SMP__: no
(II) fglrx(0): Build-Kernel PAGE_SIZE: 0x1000
(II) fglrx(0): [drm] register handle = 0xdfef0000
(II) fglrx(0): [agp] Mode=0x1f000a1b bridge: 0x1106/0x3189
(II) fglrx(0): [agp] AGP v1/2 disable mask 0x00000000
(II) fglrx(0): [agp] AGP v3 disable mask 0x00000000
(II) fglrx(0): [agp] enabling AGP with mode=0x1f000b1a

(I only see this in the log, the screen turns black (still in text mode)
and stays that way until I change to another virtual console. When
I switch back, I only see the connection reset by peer message.

any help ?

the dmesg seems to be ok ->

the fglrx module seems to load without problems too (modprobe fglrx ->
