Debian and Solaris x86

Hello,

I' planning to install a debian system secondary to Solaris x86 on a wintel
machine and have not that much experience of a debian system. Does anybody
like to share some experiences?

What I'm interested in is if it is possible to place /export and /home on a
UFS based filesystem with Solaris logging activated. Does Linux support
Solaris' UFS logging? Does it provide a fsck utility for UFS filesystems?

I've allready read

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Linux+Solaris.html

but it's quite outdated (about 4 years) and does not cover the questions
above. A package search in the debian archives reports only the kernel
modules/ files.

Thanks for hints -- Peter
