onboard audio chips by different manufacturers like VIA, SIS or Intel.
Find out the name of your chipset. Go to <http://groups.google.com> and
enter the information there together with some words like "linux
driver" or "linux module".

3. After you found out which driver to use, add it to /etc/modules with
some text editor. Or add

alias sound-slot-0 yourdriverhere

to /etc/modutils/aliases and run update-modules.

4. Install some program like kmix (kde) or aumix (command line) to set
the volume for your card. It may be muted by default.
