Woody on Dell Precision 650

Dear friends,
I am tryng to install Debian 3.0r2 on my Dell Precision 650 Workstation.
Since this workstation has 2 SCSI hard disk it is impossible to make a
boot from Debian cd, they don't contain support for my LSI 1020 SCSI
controller.
I have made a 2.4.23 kernel with SCSI and MCA support on another Debian
machine,
I have replaced a idepci bootfloppy kernel image with this 2.4.23 image.

My system make and excellent boot, and I can access to both SCSI HD and also
to the Ethernet.

But when comes the time of "Install kernel and modules"
is it impossible to mount the rescue floppy.
I have tried to select, as source, /cdrom (correctly linked to hdc, the
first IDE cdrom)
and /dev/fd0.
The answer is the same: "Unable to mount Rescue floppy. Maybe you have
inserted the wrong floppy"
If I try to choice another source, the system said me that /instmnt is busy.
Maybe someone could help me?
thank you in advance
Luca
