Yeah, that's where I found the original source archive of 3.10a-26 that I
have.

Uh, no. I'm not about to get into *supporting* the thing. Someone wants to
collect all the patches I'm using (mousewheel support in xv is very nice), I'm
happy to share what I have and where I got them, but that's all:

xv (3.10a-30) unstable; urgency=low

  * applied smooth_24_speedy patch from
    http://www2.primushost.com/~dcoffin/powershot/
    (not sure if I'm happy with this, may revert it)

xv (3.10a-29) unstable; urgency=low

  * fixed error message truncation caused by Debian patch #07
    The Deb patch enforces string lengths on error messages, which
    xv was ignoring. Since it reloaded the istr[] array each time,
    the bug was invisible as long as there was no attempt to use
    consecutive strings.

xv (3.10a-28) unstable; urgency=low

  * added PhotoCD patch from http://www.dclunie.com/xv-pcd.html
    Note: had to hack patch to cooperate with PNG patch, it will
    no longer apply standalone...
  * added formatstr patch from
    http://www.coara.or.jp/~sudakyo/DAS_Works/Graphic/
  * added directory patch from
    http://www.coara.or.jp/~sudakyo/DAS_Works/Graphic/
  * added shortsleep patch from
    http://www.coara.or.jp/~sudakyo/DAS_Works/Graphic/
  * added menubutton patch from
    http://www.coara.or.jp/~sudakyo/DAS_Works/Graphic/
    (makes insert open drop-downs)
  * rearranged patch directory slightly

  * added tiff1200.patch
  * added bmp32.patch
  * added pdf.patch
  * added croppad.patch
  * added gif.patch
  * added aspect-resize.patch from http://shh.thathost.com/patches/
  * added wheelmouse.patch from

Plus there's the license to consider. "Thou shalt not distribute modified
binaries" is a pretty plain warning against sharing it and is in fact why
Debian dropped it in the first place.

The fact that I think most of the easily available alternatives suck rocks
is not sufficient reason.
