I've compiled in ip_tables for virtually every kernel that supports it. Works fine - and I've tossed up iptables rules when something is a problem. Went to do that today, however, and suddenly I got this message: modprobe: Can't locate module ip_tables iptables v1.2.7a: can't initialize iptables table `INPUT': Table does not exist (do you need to insmod?) iptables -L shows the INPUT (and various other) table. The rest of my parts of iptables are modules. The version of iptables was updated to that in Sid, and I still get the message. Do I need to rebuild the kernel and switch CONFIG_IP_NF_TABLES from y to m? As I said, that wasn't needed before. -- Mark L.
