And not even a comment during upgrade... 

Last week it was same thing for foomatic-bin, which totally broke
printing. Between this, the softwares which when paclaged do not react
as the same software not packaged (take all the emacsen...), the
tendency to impose some mis-feature against the will (GNOME or devfs
are example), I say that debaian is no more an option to use, and I'll
stop giving Debian as an advice for a system to use. It's just
becoming a proprieatry system based on linux with choices enforced to users.
