could be a bug but I tried the same thing on my redhat 7.3 system
with mrtg 2.9.17 (same version as woody) and got the same message.

if this feature is important to you I reccomend asking on the mrtg
mailing list(I'm on that list too ..), perhaps it is fixed in a newer
version.

I only run indexmaker once, so don't need that functionality, and prefer
1 index page per system(see http://mrtg.aphroland.org/).
