I will have to say that you were lucky.  I have SuSE on my main
machine and also subscribe to the SuSE e-mail list.  The NVidia
drivers are a continuing topic.  For some people, it just works.  For
others, they struggle, try multiple configurations and multiple
versions, etc.  My experience is in the middle.  It installed easily.
Trying to configure with SaX2 was a no-go, so I editted XFConfig by
hand.  I have 3D acceleration so I can play Quake III.  But two
applets, bbweather and bbmail segfault.  The TkSeti@Home monitor
colors are messed up, but it is usable.  I can live with the problems
and there are definite problems.
