X-app font question

Hello Again, fine Deboids,

Sorry if this is an FAQ. As a new user of Linux and X-windows apps I am
just overwhelmed by how much things "just don't work" o-o-b.

    Warning: Cannot convert string
    "-b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1" to

The above is the message I get when I try to fire up "Knews" which was
working fine day before yesterday ... but I think I was getting the same
message then. Anyway, today, the entire application window (under X...)
is blank. There's no content at all.

Does anyone have any insights into either the warning message -- how to
fix it -- or the symptom -- blank window? I am guessing (because I have
nowhere else to turn) that it's an X-resources problem of some sort, and
further, I am guessing that the problem or its solution might relate in
some manner to defoma. This application installed no script under
defoma, so defoma doesn't know anything about how to deal with it. I am
hardly equipped to write a defoma script from scratch, for it.

I hope  will not have worn out my welcome here with those who are seeing
my questions everyday ... I am just in that phase right now, where
everything is a big mystery and so much new software isn't quite set up
yet. Thanks for the patience.
