Are you very sure that you don't mean "from stable to unstable"?

You have to wait for bug #183209 to be fixed ... 'dpkg
--force-overwrite' may help, but I wouldn't necessarily like to
recommend it as we're talking about two Essential packages here.
I wasn't aware that this bug applied to anything but unstable, though.
