Re: messed up mbr- unable to boot

just booot up linux and edit ur lilo.conf file
it isnt activated yet as root type lilo
im assuming u have a clean install
then edit ur lilo.conf similar to this if u have window in your first 
partition

boot=/dev/hda
root=/dev/hda5
install=/boot/boot.b
delay=8
default=linux
map=/boot/map
image=/vmlinuz
	label=Linux
	initrd=/initrd.img
other=/dev/hda1
label=windows
