sending messages using smbclient

Hi everybody

How do I send a message to a recpient in my local network using only the
IP address? I can send a message with

jorg@localhost:~$ smbclient -M hostname
but not with

jorg@localhost:~$ smbclient -M 192.168.0.2

Any idea?
