Re: Kernel Compiling: Source for my nic isn't included: Was:Going to give it another shot-need more help

Trying to do my first kernel compile because my nic isn't supported on
any of the ones on the distribution CD's. Anyway I have an onboard
Broadcom 4401. When I run make menuconfig it isn't listed but a Tigon
9 is.

1) Is the Tigon 9 the name of the boxed-plugin card with the same
chipset IOW is that what I need?

2) If (1) isn't the case is this module automatically in the kernel
and thus not showing up on the menuconfig options?

3) I have the source from broadcom. How do I get in compiled into the
kernel if I have to use it?

I don't want to just compile it as an installable module because as
long as I'm compiling the kernel I might as well learn these things.
