AverTV Studio & Sound

I recently purchased an AverTV Studio card. I have installed it, and
enabled the bttv driver. All seems well in dmesg

I open xawtv and get a TV picture, but no sound. I reboot into winblows
and the card works fine, so I know all the cables are plugged into the
right places. I checked the mixer and the volume levels are up, so I'm
a little baffeled as to where to look now.

I'm running Sid, KDE, with a sound blaster pci 128. The sound does
work,although I noticed something that confuses me a little. in dmesg
it shows

<snip>
es1370: version v0.37 time 10:28:23 Apr 14 2002
PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:11.0
PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 00:0b.0
es1370: found adapter at io 0xd400 irq 11
es1370: features: joystick off, line in, mic impedance 0

<snip>

it seems that the sound card and AverTV card are sharing the same irq,
but also looking at the features it shows the joystick port being off,
where is that configured?....could my line-in jack not enabled?

any thoughts or insight would be helpful

nick
