error starting X

Hello,

I am just installing Debian woody  with X (using tasksel). However after 
running xf86config and then startx I get the error:

/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xserverrc: /usr/bin/X11/X: No such file or directory 
...

giving up

I have done some searches that seem so suggest this is due to a missing file 
link, but I don't know how to fix it. Also when I was trying a Debian install 
last week I didn't have this problem, so I am guessing the relevant pacakges 
have changed on the servers since?

Any help please?
