Modem config....Type Rockwell

Dear gentlemen

I installed the Debian 3 in i586 computer. The modem is 
internal. Model Aztech At 3100
  type rockwell. Try work the modem is impossible. The 
wvdial no detect modem in traditional ports  ttyS1 and 
TTyS0 . Please give me any information about others 
possibilities to work this modem...
