In the current political climate I'm surprised the bus goes out there at
all.  

You must have seen the bus serviced "ghost town" of Ioco (yes it means
Imperial Oil Company) in your travels near Buntzen Lake.

(While we're way off topic here, the trolley busses go the fastest on
Main St. heading north between say 4th Ave and Terminal (no stops, no
crosswires to negotiate, and a good downgrade.))
