I am currently running 2.4.18-bf2.4 as a kernel in debian stable
and I noticed a few weeks ago with the 2.4.18-bf2.4 security updates
that pcmcia modules broke. I worked around it and waited, expecting
the problem to fix itself, but it hasn't.
The kernel and pcmcia modules are all stock debian stable. apt-get
suggests that a bug should be filed. I tried a quick search of
bugs.debian.org and could not find a bug that matches my problem
(I have never filed a bug before, and thus might be missing something
obvious).
Am I doing something wrong with the installation? Or is pcmcia-modules
2.4.18-bf buggy?
Here is my screen log:

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
