Nautilus hangs when double-clicking "Applications"

I've had this problem basically since I installed Debian a couple of
months ago. Whenever I go to "Start Here" and double-click
"Applications", Nautilus hangs. After this, trying to exit Gnome from
the "Log Out" menu also fails (nothing happens).

Any idea what the problem might be here?

I'm tracking unstable.
