Aah.  You don't happen to know exactly how that configuration should 
look?  On installing gpm, it does 
   Configuring gpm:
   Current configuration: -m /dev/psaux -t autops2 -Rms3
   Device: /dev/psaux
   Type: autops2
   Repeat type: ms3
   Do you want to change anything (Y/n)?

Err... do I?
