So to make things clear: You cannot use the fresh written bootcd because
the {DriveReady SeekComplete Error} comes all the time?

Before you waste your time try another cdrom drive. Maybe it's
non-functional.

With bootcd ;-). To use the flashy new version you can download the debs
at [1]. If you want to use a kernel image with an initrd you also have
to download [2].
