Where to put unicode_start

Hi,

after a system update of my debian/testing some months ago I had a problem with the console-fonts displaying garbage. After some long time looking for what was making the problems I found out that I needed to start /usr/bin/unicode_start. Now my problem is where should it be called. I put it in /etc/profile because it was the at least I got a working system this way, but on startup there is a phase where still some garbage is shown on the scrren.

Can anybody tell me where to put it correctly?

Andreas
