You almost certainly don't want to use xhost.  In theory, ssh should
do the right magic with xauth.  Does 'ssh -v bdg2' say anything
informative?  Do you have xbase-clients (or really, an xauth binary,
if the other machine isn't a Debian machine) installed on bdg?
