I think it is possible to get information about updates to specific packages
by email. Find the package on
http://packages.qa.debian.org/common/index.html, then on the left side of the
package page (http://packages.qa.debian.org/l/ldapdns.html) there is a
subscribe option. I have never used it before, but I am guessing that you
will then get info about updates by email.
