This is what I do:
Add the sources for unstable, then
$ cat /etc/apt/apt.conf
APT::Default-Release "testing";
APT::Cache-Limit 10000000;
Use -t unstable when you want to download from unstable.
My system was messed up a bit because of the mix of stable and unstable.
