Not cheap, but at this resolution you definitely want a matrox card.

Especially if 3D is not important, go for a matrox. You won' have to buy
the newest (Parhelia), but you will be happy with a Millennium G450 or
G550.
Max. resolution for G550 is 2048x1536 16 Mio @ 85 Hz.
