basiclly, yes
mkdir /tmp/ram
mount none /tmp/ram -t ramfs
mkdir /tmp/ram/cd_content
<put stuff in /tmp/ram/cd_content>
mkisofs /tmp/ram/cd_content -o /tmp/ram/cd.iso
(mkisofs command line is probably not correct)
cdrecord <options> /tmp/ram/cd.iso
Note that at this point, free ram is down to 150..250 MB
This trick is also nice when working with other large files.
