That shouldn't be a problem. (My current desktop environment of
choice is fluxbox (neither), with Konqueror (KDE) as a window manager,
and occasional use of Gnucash (GNOME 1) and LogJam (GNOME 2).)

Beat the GNOME people over the head with a clue bat? :-) If a
program doesn't support a particular set of command-line options,
there's not a whole lot you can do about it without modifying the
source. You might try giving two dashes instead of one, but you also
might just lose without changing the source.
