thanks for the advice, got rid of that error message, but something
else seemsto be wrong.  Here's the new logfile (heavilz snipped this
time).  The error message is at the top, while the 'faal'exit message
is at the end ofthe file.  This seems to be a hardware detection
problem -- which seems odd since this is a pretty standard, and not
especiallz new, card:
