You shouldn't need any packages besides GIMP itself(/and its
dependencies). What problems exactly are you having.
Ok, got it solved now :)
The problem is that I don't have any configuration files in /etc/gimp1.2
I removed and purged the package and installed it again. I now have them
which also solve the problem.
