squirrelmail pointing to inobvious config option

When trying to log in to squirrelmail, I get the following error:

				ERROR:

   Bad request: SquirrelMail does not support SASL PLAIN yet. Rerun
		    conf.pl and use login instead.
 

OK, so where's this mystery option?  There's nothing referencing
anything in that error that I can go by...
