debootstrap error during installation

Hello debian user,

I decided to change my distro and give debian a go.
the installation worked well up to the point of the base installation.
after a while  i get an error with the prompt: debootstrap exited with
an error (return value 1).

any idea what went wrong? thanks in advandce cheers Martin
