Networking problems

HELLO!!!

bofore anything i apreciate your attention and your
patience.

I have two topics:

first of all I have two NICs in my PC,

eth0 = 3c59x (3c590/3C900 SERIES)
eth1 = 8139too (Realtek RTL 8139)
I installed debian 3.0 and everything was going OK.
after that i recompiled the kernel adding some network
features
(multicast routing and other stuffs about this).

When the PC is working with eth0 as main NIC and i
shutdown it, the following error appears:
Deconfiguring network interfaces: eth1: unable to
signal thread
done.

But when i shutdown the PC with eth1 as main NIC the
following error appears:
eth1: too much work at interrupt, IntrStatus=0x0001
eth1: too much work at interrupt, IntrStatus=0x0001
eth1: too much work at interrupt, IntrStatus=0x0001
eth1: too much work at interrupt, IntrStatus=0x0001
eth1: too much work at interrupt, IntrStatus=0x0001
eth1: too much work at interrupt, IntrStatus=0x0001

and it doesn't stop. I dont know what is going wrong
with it. any idea?

second thing:
the routing table of both NICs, is given when the PC
stars up. if i want a specific way to work i use the
route utility, but i have to do it manually every time
i start the PC,
there may be an script that configure the NICs and
give the routing parameters of both, dut i dont know
which one is.

thanks for your time!!!!!!
