Fourth quickie down. Oregonians! Keep writing in! Write to your
local senator and rep, as well as House Speaker Karen Minnis (R, Wood
Village). Minnis has this one stalled. Oregon republicans being what
they are (for those not in Oregon, they're conservative enough to make
the Reform party look like Socialists), Minnis is the showstopper that
must be convinced. TACT, PEOPLE! Read the Advocacy mini-HOWTO and
get the word out! The fight is far from over.

I don't know what's going on in PLUG territory (as I'm not on thier
list and I'm either at work or catching the train up the street at
Millikan Way on the way to work when they're meeting), so if anybody
here is in contact with PLUG, pass the word on.

Right now, the big opposition is business, so if you have open source
deployed in your company, grab some letterhead and overnight that
sucker to Salem. I suggest highlighting what brought your company to
open source, and if you can get the data, how much money proprietary
solutions would have cost the company in terms of acquisition and
TCO. This should help the state figure out how much it stands to
save, and the bottom line is what conservatives especially are staring
at right now.

Go forth and spread the gospel!
