exim4 - disabling rewriting for intranet messages : the debian way

I use exim4 and I need to rewrite local addresses in mail that goes to the outside world, but not for messages that remain within the local intranet.

This topic is covered by the exim4 FAQ N°Q0803 ( http://www.exim.org/exim-html-4.10/doc/html/FAQ_8.html#TOC206 ), which gives the directives to add in the configuration file.

My question is : how to add these directives in order to respect the debian configuration scheme ?

I tried to patch the routers and declare my own external transporter in the /etc/exim4/conf.d tree but I broke the predefined routers and the update-exim4.conf process...

Thx in advance for your help.
