Re: Why there are modules loaded at boot time but NOT listed in "modules.conf"

Can anybody tell me why there are modules loaded at boot time but NOT
listed in "modules.conf". Can I get the whole list of it of my system
from a file or something?

There are services which need some modules to work. So when they start
up, they load the modules if the modules aren't loaded. I believe nfs is
one of these. Also any "append" entry in lilo.conf can cause modules to
autoload, ide-scsi is one example. Those modules which are configured to
load with modconf are shown in /etc/modules. I don't know about any
list, but comparing lsmod to modules.conf and modules and checking where
things are loaded is how I would do it... that is, if it wasn't the
modules file you were looking for.
