building nvidia drivers for 2.4.20-1-k7??

Hello!

seems there's a bug somewhere in older kernels, so i decided to switch
from 2.4.19 to latest build...

selected it in dselect, installed it, so far so good....
rebooted and it went up nicely, without X though...

am used to it, had allready fetched the kernel-headers, made the 2
exports, start the debian rules script, the nvidia driver compiles, and
generates a package, no problem so far....

i install the package and then:
dpkg -i ../../nvidia-kernel-2.4.20-1-k7_1.0.4349-1+_i386.deb
(Reading database ... 98960 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking nvidia-kernel-2.4.20-1-k7 (from .../nvidia-kernel-2.4.20-1-k7_1.0.4349-1+_i386.deb) ...
Setting up nvidia-kernel-2.4.20-1-k7 (1.0.4349-1+) ...
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.20-1-k7/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia.o

uhm what's that nvidia.o module?? wasn't there a NVdriver modules
supposed to be instead? and how come that the driver i just compiles
complains about missing symbols???

did something hughe change in the way the nvidia cards are handled?
cause if the module name changes, there have to be some more changes
elsewhere....

and how do i get a working nvidia module for this new kernel?
