I'm wondring if it was a lilo bug. Last night when I did a dist-upgrade
and it installed the latest unstable it updated lilo. To get this
system online I booted off a Debian3 CD, copied an old lilo to /,
"dpkg --remove lilo", "dpkg --install /lilo*; sync"
Came right up.
